DETAILS: Police rob businessman over Sh5 million

Two police constables, one stationed at Kilimani and the other at Muthangari police stations, have been apprehended on allegations of robbing three businessmen of Ksh5 million cash and Ksh7 million worth of gold.

The suspects allegedly ambushed the victims along Katani Road in Mlolongo on February 22, pretending to arrest them.

They then forced the victims into a vehicle and drove towards a police station. However, they later abandoned the victims at a parking yard outside Kilimani Police Station and fled with the money and gold.

The victims reported the incident at Mlolongo Police Station, leading to an investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

After two weeks of investigations, the suspects were arrested and taken into police custody for processing.

The DCI is continuing with investigations to determine if more officers were involved in the robbery case.

In a similar incident in January, four police officers were arrested for robbing a businessman of Ksh2 million in cash in Nairobi, after approaching him under the guise of conducting investigations.
