Revelation of Uhuru’s Involvement in Private Meeting Between Ruto and Raila

Kenyans were caught by surprise on Sunday, April 2, when President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga announced a truce.

Political analysts and the general public have since then been speculating on whether or not former President Uhuru Kenyatta was involved in facilitating the agreement.

Masaa.co.ke spoke exclusively to political analysts to get their take on the matter. Prof Herman Manyora, Dr Brian Mutie and Dismas Mokua all agreed that there was a high possibility that Uhuru was involved.

Manyora stated that it was unlikely that National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah would be privy to such information.

Mokua noted that politicians should be wary of feeding Kenyans nonfactual information. Mutie commented that the former president had access to both leaders, and had been the subject of discussion by budding politicians from his Mt Kenya region.

All three analysts agreed that Uhuru’s input would be needed going forward with the bipartisan approach model proposed by Ruto.

In conclusion, while there is no definite proof that former President Uhuru Kenyatta was involved in the Ruto-Raila truce.
