
A recent study conducted by Airnow, a leading market research firm, has revealed the most popular iOS apps in the shopping category in Kenya as of August 2021. The study analyzed the number of downloads and active users of various shopping apps on the iOS platform.
The results, which were published in November 2022, showed that Jumia, an online marketplace that offers a wide range of products, including electronics, fashion, and groceries, was found to have the highest number of downloads with 1,185,000 users. The app’s popularity can be attributed to its user-friendly interface, timely delivery, and attractive discounts and offers.
Following closely behind Jumia was MAF Carrefour Online Shopping with 974,000 downloads. The app, which is owned by Majid Al Futtaim, allows customers to order groceries and household items from the comfort of their homes and have them delivered to their doorsteps.
Jiji Kenya, an online marketplace where buyers and sellers can trade new and used goods, was the third most popular shopping app with 729,000 downloads. The app’s popularity can be attributed to its wide variety of products and its easy-to-use platform.
Other popular shopping apps in Kenya included Alibaba B2B with 632,000 downloads, Amazon shopping with 365,000 downloads, AliExpress with 273,000 downloads, and SHEIN with 229,000 downloads. These apps offer a wide range of products and are known for their quality, affordability, and timely delivery.
The study shows that online shopping is gaining popularity in Kenya, and more people are embracing the convenience of shopping from their smartphones. The popularity of these apps is expected to continue growing as more Kenyans adopt online shopping as a way of life.
