Two killed in Sagana accident

Two people tragically died in an accident involving a motorcycle and a matatu along the Sagana-Karatina road on Sunday night, according to Kirinyaga West sub-county police commander Wilson Koskei.

The accident occurred at around 7 pm, resulting in the motorcycle rider and pillion passenger receiving injuries and being pronounced dead upon arrival at Sagana sub-county hospital.

The news of the fatal accident sparked outrage from the hospital’s residents, who accused the hospital of poor management and lack of drugs.

“There are no drugs in this hospital, no first aid. It should be closed because it is not helping us at all,” said Peter Ndirangu.

Residents living along the busy makutano-sagana-Karatina highway, which is currently under construction, have voiced their concerns that the road could potentially take more lives if urgent action is not taken.

The motorcycle and the matatu involved in the accident have been taken to Sagana police station for further investigation
